What banks can I use and what are the opening hours?
There are 3 banks in Drogheda, these include:
- The Bank of Ireland (BoI)
- Allied Irish Bank (AIB)
- Ulster Bank

General banking hours are Monday – Friday 09.00 – 16.00.
Edgewater College can assist long-term students who wish to open a bank account while in Ireland.

Time Zone

What time zone is Ireland located in?
Ireland is located in the Western European Time Zone.  Western European Standard Time (WET) is the same time as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).  

 

Climate

What is the climate like in Ireland?
Temperatures during the Summer can range from 60ºF/15ºC to 70ºF/20ºC. Spring and autumn are generally 50ºF/10ºC.  Winter is between 40ºF/5ºC and 46ºF/8ºC. Snow is rare, but showers can occur at any time of the year, so ensure to bring an umbrella and a rain jacket.
