The course will provide a refreshing re-introduction to best practice language teaching pedagogy through the lesson planning and evaluation sessions. An important part of the course will involve trainees planning and delivering lessons.
The aim is for trainees to complete the course and have an understanding of the aviation industry and the various communication needs of varied positions. They will be equipped with the tools to begin to address the needs of the language users to make aviation safer for all those involved and the public.
All participants should be ready and willing to share their teaching experiences with others. They also will need a basic knowledge of computers. Some knowledge of aviation and the aviation industry is required.
Participants will also be required to do some pre-course reading and tasks in preparation for the course. Participants will also be required to do a pre-course reflection on their experience of teaching so far.

The sessions are conducted face-to-face and will have a practical focus, in that, teachers will be expected to reflect on their experiences. Teachers will then use their experiences and those of their peers to develop their skills in a group framework. Teachers return to their classrooms equipped with new skills and material to use with their students.
Participants will be encouraged to use a forum once the course has been completed to discuss their experiences of the course and subsequent learning with their peers and course tutors. Participants will also be encouraged to write reports from seminars they hold when they return to their schools. Participants will be briefed on how to hold unseen observations in their schools to continue their professional development.
