Getting to Edgewater College

Getting here by Air

Drogheda is only a 20-minute drive from Dublin Airport and an hour and half from Belfast International Airport.

By Ferry

Getting here by Ferry:

The Dublin Ferry-port is 30 minutes drive to Drogheda , The Dun Laoghaire Ferry port is an hour's drive via the East Link Toll Bridge .The port of Larne is 2 hours drive and Rosslare is less than 3 hours drive.


By Bus

Getting here by Bus:

The Irish bus company Bus Eireann operates frequent Expressway and regular services to Drogheda from Dublin, Belfast, Dundalk , Galway and Navan.

Services to all parts of Ireland operate from Bus Áras, the central bus station in Dublin.

An express bus service from Dublin Airport leaves every hour, Monday to Saturday at 20 minutes past the Hour, service buses connect the airport with Balbriggan, Julianstown and Drogheda. Matthews Coaches operate services directly to Drogheda on the M1 Motorway, daily from Parnell St in Dublin, they also run coaches from Bettystown to Dublin. Aircoach operates from Dublin Airport to Belfast on the hour from 7am to 9pm and from Belfast Airport on the half hour from 6.30am to 8.30pm www.aircoach.ie Check to ensure that the bus will stop in Drogheda.

Getting here by Rail:

The Irish train company: Iarnrod Eireann operates frequent 'Enterprise', Inter-City and regular services on the Dublin/Belfast line to Drogheda. Laytown station (8 miles south of Drogheda) is well located for those travelling to the seaside destinations of Laytown and Bettystown . By Car

Getting here by Road (from Dublin)

  • Head north on the M1 from Dublin towards Drogheda until you reach the toll bridge.
  • Take the second exit after the toll bridge.
  • Take a right at the roundabout and go through the second roundabout – KFC/Homebase will be on your right hand side.
  • Keep going straight down the road until you reach the bus station on your left hand side. (you will have to go through 3 sets of traffic lights before you reach the bus station)
  • Take a right at the traffic lights at the bus station.
  • Take a left at the next set of traffic lights.
  • Go over the bridge and take a right at Wogans/Boyne Mortgage Services.
  • Go straight down the quay – the river should be on your right hand side.
  • Just before the end of the road Edgewater College is on your left hand side. (Ledwith Motor Factors is next door)
